About Baumar

Steve Bauer has been a custom finishing force in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1983. Doing business as Baumar, Steve has worked with numerous designers, architects, cabinet-makers, and contractors, and has created beautiful custom finishes for hundreds of homes and commercial businesses, including many of San Francisco's finest and most legendary restaurants. 

Finishes include lacquers, stains, dyes, clear coats, wall glazing, faux finishes, gilding, cracked linen, distressed finishes, and even retro finishes like Zolatone and metal flake.

Steve has long been committed to using low-VOC paints and finishes. This means Baumar finishes are not only beautiful and durable, but environmentally friendly and better for your health, too!
